up with briquettes and pellets. The initiation of
this product came after a series of studies and

research on combustion of sawdust converted

briquettes. With an abundant supply of sawdust as
a raw material, this was devised as an alternative,
readily available to every household kitchen.

The Briquettes Plant, which contributed to an

increase in the workforce, apart from increasing
the product range, was commissioned by Hon
Nancy Tembo, when she was serving as Minister

of Forestry and Natural Resources.

SOCIAL CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
The company has made its own mark as it

answers to its corporate obligations to society.

This includes but not limited to education, health,
water and sanitation sports and culture. In
education, Raiply Malawi Limited is a key partner

of the Ministry of education. It helps in construction

of classroom blocks, such as the Mtangatanga
CDSS, provision of desks, and preparation of
PSLCE in surrounding primary schools. In health,

apart from running a clinic, it provides referral

ambulance services to Mzimba district hospital,
facilitating the provision of ART and antenatal
services. With supply of clean water being a major

challenge, partly because of spatial settlements,

Raiply is implementing a two-borehole per year
programme, in collaboration with Mzimba and
Nkhata Bay District Councils. To cater for sports

enthusiasts, the company sponsors the National
