What is International Women’s Day?
On the 8th of March each year was set as an international women’s day to celebrate women’s achievements and call out gender inequalities in homes, work place and the society.
Why celebrate International Women’s Day?
In a world full of challenges women get to face twice the challenges for them to be noticed but still they are overlooked.
Gender inequality still exist, 3 women out of 10 homes get to face gender based society, the society continues to discriminate women and in the offices women receive less payment from doing the same work as men. We are all instruments for change henceforth let us all celebrate and notice our women’s efforts that they contribute in aspects of life all day every day.
What is the theme for this year?
This year’s theme is “choose to challenge”. Everyone should choose to choose to challenge gender bias and gender inequalities because from challenge brings about change, so let’s bring about change by choosing to challenge.
